MAY METTĀ / LOVING-KINDNESS MEDITATION
THEME: BEFRIENDING DEATH
Join us in community for a live meditation practice and short talk on the foundational practice of loving-kindness meditation (mettā).
Considered by the Buddha as one of the most fundamental aspects for mental development, mettā, the cohesive factor of consciousness in Buddhist psychology, carries with it limitless potential for healing through the breaking down of all divisive barriers, and in turn conflict, within oneself and between oneself and others / the world.
This session will include a short talk, followed by our practice and recitation of the Buddha’s Mettā Sutta (scripture).
All levels welcome.
